Job Description: 

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Behavioral Health Services, the flagship behavioral health service line of Hartford Healthcare’s Northwest region and primary teaching hospital for Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, is seeking a Psychiatrist committed to resident and medical student education to serve as a clinical leader for our outpatient services. The Psychiatrist will serve as a clinical leader within the clinic and participate in patient care, resident supervision, and medical student teaching, joining a mature and collegial faculty peer group. Applicants will be eligible for academic appointment through the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine commensurate with the school’s appointments and promotions processes.

The Department of Psychiatry at CHH provides a full continuum of behavioral health services that includes an Adult Inpatient 17 Bed Unit (650 admissions), Emergency Department Crisis Intervention (2,048 visits), Partial Hospital/Dual Diagnosis (4,018 visits), Adult & Child Outpatient (33,335 visits), In-home Infant Mental Health, Mental Health Services to the Homeless, and Community Case Managers for those with substance use needs.   

CHH is highly regarded for its community health focus including leading the Northwest Caring Connection network of community behavioral health providers and the Litchfield County Opiate Task Force.
