Our team collaborates seamlessly to provide unparalleled care for complex diagnoses, including lung and esophageal cancers, complex airway disease, and pleural disease. 

We are expanding and have an opportunity for a Physician Assistant or APRN to join our Bridgeport location and be part of a supportive and collaborative team of 7 PA’s and 6 MD’s across the state. If you are a Certified Physician Assistant or APRN licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Connecticut, we would like to speak with you. 

The Role of the Physician Assistant / APRN Includes:

·        Partnering directly with the Medical Director of Lung Screening Program, Hartford HealthCare & Director of Thoracic Surgery, Fairfield Region

·        Active participation in the lung cancer screening program, pulmonary nodule program, cancer conferences, and multi-disciplinary conferences.

·        Contributing in all aspect of the patient’s care; from managing consults and new patient visits, to the operating room, as well as follow ups and post-operative appointments in the hospital and outpatient settings

·        A well-rounded surgical experience; participating in oncologic care of lung and esophageal cancer patients, as well as benign thoracic and foregut conditions

·        Assisting top tier surgeons in the operating room

·        Learning the latest minimally invasive and open surgical techniques

·        Understanding the role of cancer staging and surgical resection.

·        Developing strong working relationships with referring providers

Shift: Per Diem 

About Hartford HealthCare’s Thoracic Service:

·        Equipped with the latest techniques for treating benign and malignant conditions of the lung, chest wall, and esophagus.

·        Offers minimally invasive techniques that include robotic surgery and VATS

·        Involvement in multidisciplinary collaboration through the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute.

·        Committed to providing compassionate care.

·        Certified Physician Assistant or APRN licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Connecticut.

·        Cancer related surgical experience is preferred.

·        Robotic surgical experience preferred.
